CONNECT YOUR PHONE
Set up Companion.
Turn the supported aircraft’s wing lights on to start away-mode updates. Opening FlightWire or changing radio frequencies can pause them; cycle the lights off and on to resume.
Troubleshooting- Open Companion. On iPhone, open it in Safari, choose Share → Add to Home Screen, then open the saved app.
- Pair your phone. In FlightWire’s Mobile page, leave COMPANION ON. Open Companion Settings, choose SCAN FLIGHTWIRE QR and scan the plugin’s pairing QR.
- Allow notifications. Allow notifications in the saved app for background alerts.
- Test the connection. Press TEST CONNECTION in FlightWire and check the result.

Supported aircraft & OPS mode
Requires a supported OPS aircraft. Recording-only mode disables Companion.
Aircraft compatibilityInternet & current data
Both devices need internet access. Updates and notifications depend on aircraft support, away mode and phone permissions.
Monitoring, not remote control
Companion cannot control the aircraft. Acknowledging an alert confirms receipt; it does not resolve the issue or send an ACARS reply.
